Library of the Technical University of Liberec Offers mojeID Validation

Validated mojeID accounts can currently be used at e-shops requiring age verification, community portals or portals of various cities and municipalities.

Prague/Liberec, 24 December 2013 – Users of the mojeID service received one Christmas present a few days early. People living in and near the city of Liberec who want to validate their mojeID account no longer have to visit a notary or their nearest CzechPOINT and pay to verify their identity. As of Friday, 13 December, mojeID accounts can be validated free of charge not only in Prague and Brno, but also in Liberec. The third validation location was opened in the library of the Technical University, which is easily accessible due to its location in the centre of the city.

“Thanks to the validation location at the University Library of TUL, we can extend our services, promote ourselves and gain new users. With mojeID, library users have easier access to their accounts and other services of the online catalogue. It also gives them more options at portals supporting mojeID,” says Jitka Vencláková, director of the University Library of TUL.

Validated mojeID accounts can currently be used at e-shops requiring age verification, community portals such as Hlídačky.cz, which provided babysitting services, or portals of various cities and municipalities.

About the mojeID service

MojeID is a service that allows Czech internet users to use one set of identification data (username and password) to log in to different websites and web services. Using mojeID means you do not always have to create a new account and go through long and complicated registration processes over and over again. The service also allows storing information about account holders in a single safe location where it is always up-to-date. MojeID can be used for all services whose operators directly support the mojeID service or at least OpenID technology. The implementation of mojeID is not difficult and does not carry any significant costs. In cases of e-shops built on open-source solutions such as PrestaShop, Drupal or Joomla, operators can deploy implementation modules that are being developed directly by the mojeID team. The service is provided free of charge to the internet public. More information about this service, in operation from 26 October 2010, is available at the internet address mojeID.
