The CZ.NIC association, the administrator of the national CZ domain, announces another distinctive reduction of the CZ domain operation fee.

The CZ.NIC association, the administrator of the national CZ domain, announces another distinctive reduction of the CZ domain operation fee. The yearly keep fee for the CZ domain is set to 400 CZK valid from the 1. January 2007. The decision to reduce the keep fee was taken by the board of directors of the CZ.NIC association, which is also obliged to publish this change 6 months before the new fee value becomes valid.

The current value of the yearly keep fee, which the domain registrars pay to the CZ.NIC association is 500 CZK for each CZ domain and this value will be valid until the end of the year 2006. The previous distinctive reduction of the price of registration of the CZ domain took place at the beginning of this year when the 500 CZK fee for the first registration was dropped. The CZ.NIC association expects that the registrars will apply the other reduction of the price into their prices for final consumers in the maximum possible height.

„We expect that the reduction of the yearly keep fee by 20 % will bring another increase of interest in CZ domain registration,“ says Ondřej Filip, director of the CZ.NIC association. „The former dropping of the 500 CZK fee for the first registration of the domain that took place the 1: January this year, led during the first quarter to the 40% increase in the number of registered domains compared to the previous year and the number of registered CZ domains quickly reached 250 000.“
