CZ.NIC Association presents CyberSecurity, authored by Czech cyber security experts
On more than 500 pages, the book primarily addresses the issue of cyber security, and lays out its basic principles that should be respected by everyone who uses information and communication technologies.
The 20th title of the CZ.NIC Publications is “CyberSecurity”. On more than 500 pages, the book primarily addresses the issue of cyber security, and lays out its basic principles that should be respected by everyone who uses information and communication technologies. The publication is available for free download at https://knihy.nic.cz, or it can be purchased in printed form in most bookstores.
In the book, the authors Jan Kolouch (an expert on the application of law in cyberspace who works, among other, at the Faculty of Information Technology, CTU), Andrea Kropáčová (head of CESNET-CERTS, the first security team in the Czech Republic recognized by international cyber-security structures), Pavel Bašta and Martin Kunc (both from the CZ.NIC Association, which is also in charge of the National Security Team CSIRT.CZ) also deal with partial interpretations of some legal norms related to cyber security issues. Apart from the theoretical and legal part, the book also includes a practical part, which may be of particular use to computer experts who want to learn about this area. The book also contains information on the operation of CERT/CSIRT teams in cyberspace and their capabilities and limits.
“The book CyberSecurity is already the second title in our edition authored by Jan Kolouch, an internet law expert. This book follows CyberCrime, which we released two years ago. I believe that the current title will be useful for both ordinary users who need advice, guidance or recommendations for solving everyday security problems, as well as for professionals looking for inspiration for their further education,” said Martin Peterka, Chief Operating Officer of CZ.NIC. “In view of the relatively rapid development of cyber security, the authors of the book and experts from the CSIRT.CZ team will operate and maintain a specialized website kyberbezpecnost.csirt.cz. Additional texts related to the book and, in general, news from the cyber-security world will be published here.”
Ceremonial launch of the book connected with book-signing will take place on January 31 as part of the Workshop on Network and Service Security (Faculty of Information Technology, CTU, Thákurova 9, Praha 6).
This publication was created as part of the PROKI (Predictions and Protection against Cyber Incident) project supported by the Czech Republic’s security research for 2015-2020.
