The number of .cz domains exceeded 1 400 000

Czech national domain administrator, the CZ.NIC Association, registered 1 400 000th domain name today after 9pm.

Since the start of this year. the number of .cz domains has grown by 28 434, and the trend that started in 2020 because of the global covid pandemic continues.

"The number of registered .cz domain keeps growing. Our statistics show that in last year, its number increased by 3.2 % compared to 2019. One of the reasons was the pandemic and corresponding restrictions which made users move their activities to the digital space. The number of e-shops, for example, almost doubled year-to-year. I believe the current trend of .cz domains registrations that proves their major significance and effective administration will continue also when the covid crisis is over," said Ondřej Filip, the CZ.NIC Association's CEO.

Note: The number of domains changes dynamically as they are registered or cancelled. Thus it is possible that the 1 400 000th domain will be registered several times.
