CZ.NIC introduces VIP Domain, a new premium service with DATART.cz as the first client
The VIP Domain service is intended for organizations and businesses that value security, 100% functionality and availability of their services operated on a domain with the Czech national TLD name.
CZ.NIC, the Czech national domain administrator, introduces a new premium service VIP Domain to help protect and ensure the uninterrupted functionality of websites on the .CZ domain. The first to use it for its e-shop is the retailer DATART.
The VIP Domain service is intended for organizations and businesses that value security, 100% functionality and availability of their services operated on a domain with the Czech national TLD name. VIP Domain is running on the same infrastructure as the entire .CZ domain and thus guarantees high stability and resistance to cyber-attacks. It also provides the shortest possible response time and protects against unauthorized technical or administrative changes to the domain.
“By introducing this innovation, we are responding to the needs of domain name holders, for whom it is essential that their services are available around the clock. More and more companies understand the need for the highest possible security and protection of their services, which is also related to security against cyber threats. It is the security of domains and DNS services, which are the cornerstone of any such service, that VIP Domain addresses. I am very pleased that thanks to the work of our colleagues from the labs, the CZ.NIC admin team and the CSIRT.CZ security team, we have managed to develop a comprehensive solution that will contribute to higher security of significant domains and services on the Czech Internet,” adds Ondřej Filip, CEO of CZ.NIC, on the new service.
The first domain to become a VIP domain was DATART.cz, the e-shop of one of the largest Czech retailers of consumer electronics. The holder of this domain is HP TRONIC, whose portfolio includes, in addition to DATART in Zlín, also Eta or the Valachy Resort. “We started cooperation with the CZ.NIC Association mainly to strengthen the security of the DATART.cz e-shop. We only want to provide our customers with the best services, and the 100% reliability of the e-shop is crucial for maximizing their satisfaction. Therefore, we are glad that thanks to our partnership with CZ.NIC we can offer them a solution that allows us to strengthen the security measures and create an environment with fast and reliable access to all products,” comments Jakub Lasch, Manager of ICT Technology at HP TRONIC.
The main advantages of the VIP Domain service are its high stability and resistance to cyber-attacks. Another important aspect is protection against unauthorized technical and administrative changes of the domain. The users of the VIP Domain service can also be sure of the fastest possible DNS response time on this domain.
In terms of network infrastructure, the cornerstone of the VIP Domain service is the ever-expanding IP anycast for DNS service operation, which is built with an emphasis on high robustness and resilience of the national .CZ TLD containing almost 1.5 million second-level domain names. Anycast for the .CZ domain is operated from sites located on every continent, which helps to keep potential DoS attacks away from the borders of the Czech Republic. Thanks to the Association’s involvement in the FENIX security project, the availability of the domain is ensured even if the project ends up in the island mode.
