CZ.NIC Is to Give Courses in Their Own Academy
Such specialized courses are not offered by any other training centre in the Czech Republic.
Prague, 1. April - CZ.NIC Association, the administrator of the top level domain .CZ, offers specialized courses on Internet technologies for general public from now on. The courses are to be held on the premises of the CZ.NIC Academy, in a training centre which is equipped for such highly technical trainings. Those interested in the courses may apply via the web site: www.nic.cz/akademie where they will, in addition to the course timetable, find detailed information on the trainers, course syllabi as well as an e-Academy section for self-instruction. Such specialized courses are not offered by any other training centre in the Czech Republic.
Currently, three courses may be taken in the CZ.NIC Academy: DNS, DNSSES, ENUM. Lectures on these technologies will be held by CZ.NIC employees as well as by experts with practical experience. In case of DNS and DNSSEC, it will be Ondřej Surý, Technical Director of the Association. Courses dedicated to ENUM will be held by Lukáš Macura of Slezská univerzita in Opava and Petr Hruška of CZ.NIC. The offer of courses will increase in the future. E.g. trainings on IPv6, routing, cryptography and other topics are being prepared.
"We organized the first courses in the CZ.NIC Academy as early as the end of the last year. However, the sessions were not public. We arranged them only for our members and registrars. The purpose of the trial courses was to show us the potential interest therein. At the same time, we wanted to try out individual courses before a familiar audience,” said Ondřej Filip, CZ.NIC CEO. “CZ.NIC Academy is another project which focuses on raising awareness of the Internet and Internet technologies. Judging by the number of participants who have participated in the courses up to now, we believe that we will find prospective students in the general public.”
The courses are keyed to the needs of technicians who administer DNS, are in charge of data safety or telecommunication systems, or supervise other network systems in their companies. However, they may be of interest to all others who are interested in these technologies and would like to learn more about them.
