CZ.NIC Association Organizes the Second Edition of the Conference on the Internet and technologies

The contribution and the subsequent discussion will be devoted to Internet-related topics.

Prague, 5 May 2009 – On Thursday 4 June, the second edition of the specialist conference called Internet and Technology 09 will take place in Klub Lávka at Novotného lávka in Prague. The meeting of Czech experts in the field of the Internet and Internet technologies is organized by the association CZ.NIC, administrator of the top level domain .CZ. The contribution and the subsequent discussion will be devoted to Internet-related topics, e.g. the security of the current Internet (DNSSEC, spam), IPv6 protocol, which has been steadily gaining ground, or multicast. Among others, Adam Tkáč of the company Red Hat, Daniel Suchý of the NIX.CZ association or Jiří Peterka, a freelance consultant and journalist will appear at the conference.
„Among agenda items of this conference, I would single out the talk on Antispam Technologies by my colleague Petr Hruška. Spam currently represents 85 - 90 % of the overall e-mail activity, which means 200 billion messages a day in the whole world. These figures are in fact alarming, and I believe we will appreciate suggestions about how to protect ourselves against such messages. Furthermore, I will definitely not miss the contributions on IPv6, the Internet protocol of the future, and the presentation by Jiří Peterka, who intends to shed light on the history of electronic signature and its future,” said Ondřej Filip, CZ.NIC CEO.
Before closing the Internet and Technology 09 conference, we will announce the results of the 4th annual Czech Open Source 2009 competition, which is traditionally organized by the specialist information server Root.cz. The open source projects will be evaluated and winners for 2009 will be announced in Klub Lávka at 4:50 p.m.
