CZ.NIC Hosts Jubilee Meeting of the International Organization RIPE
Those speaking and appearing in individual discussions will include, for example, Ondřej Surý, Manager of CZ.NIC Laboratory, and Jaromír Talíř, Technical Director at CZ.NIC.
Prague, 3 May – A meeting of representatives of European domain registries, internet specialists and employees of major internet companies starts today in Prague. The Marriot Conference Centre will offer lectures, discussions, workshops, public meetings and closed meetings about IPv4 and IPv6, DNS and ENUM from today until Friday 7 May. The host of the 60th RIPE conference is the CZ.NIC Association, administrator of the Czech national domain. Those speaking and appearing in individual discussions will include, for example, Ondřej Surý, Manager of CZ.NIC Laboratory, who will talk about DNSSEC validators for Firefox, and Jaromír Talíř, Technical Director at CZ.NIC. He will present his findings from building a DNS infrastructure to an international audience.
“Collaborating on the organization of this kind of meeting is a major event for CZ.NIC and the entire Czech internet community. One of the main topics at the conference will be signing the root zone with DNSSEC technology. The Czech Republic is actually one of the first countries in the world to use DNSSEC to protect its domains; we are currently the global leader in the number of secured domains. Other topics will include, for example, the increasingly topical IPv6,” added Ondřej Filip, Executive Director of the CZ.NIC association.
“The RIPE meeting represents a unique opportunity for everyone who is interested in internet resource administration and internet management in general, so that they can participate in the discussion about current problems, learn something new and meet specialists in the field, from governments and the technical community. The RIPE NCC organization is glad that it can have its meeting in the Czech Republic this year and would like to thank the CZ.NIC Association for its support,” added Axel Pawlik, Director of RIPE NCC.

Alongside CZ.NIC, Czech peering centre NIX.CZ will be taking part as a sponsor in the organization of the jubilee meeting, while the CESNET Association and the company Dial Telecom are connectivity sponsors.
