Prague, 13 May 2011 – The CZ.NIC Association, the administrator of the national .CZ domain, registered domain number 800,000 today at 8:20:48 a.m. The average monthly increase in new .CZ domains continues to be around 10,000. CZ.NIC statistics indicate that nearly half of all domain holders have a single registered domain; the largest number of domains registered to a single holder is 2,752.

“We have recorded monthly growth of around 10,000 new .CZ domains since migration in October 2007 to FRED, a new registration system that significantly streamlined the process and made it less expensive. Unless the trend in place for nearly four years changes drastically, we can expect to celebrate the one millionth .CZ domain around the beginning of 2013,” said Ondřej Filip, CEO of the CZ.NIC Association.
