eIDAS
What is eIDAS?
eIDAS is an European Union regulation n. 910/2014 o electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions. The regulation established standards for electronic signatures, qualified digital certificates, electronic seals, time stamps and other means of verifying authentication mechanisms.
These allow an electronic transaction to have the same legal status as a transaction carried out on paper. The regulation entered into force in July 2014 as a means of enabling secure and smooth electronic transactions within the European Union. EU member states are required to recognise electronic signatures that comply with eIDAS standards.
eIDAS and MojeID
The eIDAS international gateway allows the use of login means notified by other EU member states in online government services, and at the same time allows Czech citizens to use means notified under the eIDAS regulation to log in to foreign online services.
These are state electronic identity cards, the eGovernment mobile key, and also the service MojeID , which is operated by the CZ.NIC association itself. The eIDAS gateway also includes a separate component required for logging in to German eOPs.
